BALTIMORE (WJZ) —A Baltimore City police officer is in the hospital after being shot during a traffic stop. Rochelle Ritchie has the details.
Police Commissioner Anthony Batts said he is currently in surgery and police have recovered a gun that may have been used in the shooting.
It’s an unfortunate reminder of the danger Baltimore police officers face while on the job, after an officer is shot just after 7 p.m. Sunday.

“This is a difficult situation, difficult time and I thank the mayor for standing in support,” Batts said.
Baltimore police officials said the injured officer and his partner stopped a car after noticing suspicious activity when shots rang out.
